Glenorchy
Sunday,
Day 9 continued: After we walked around the pond in Glenorchy,
we drove back to the Queenstown airport. The airport was so small
that it took us about 5 minutes to park, return the rental car
and get to our gate. Returning the rental car was one of the more
memorable experiences ever in travelling. I walked up to the counter
where the young fellow at Hertz was reading and told him I'd like
to return the car. I was prepared with mileage and gas level and
ready to discuss the flat tire we had, but he just took the keys
and said thanks. Never even asked my name.
The
rest of the journey was a blur of airplanes, shuttles and taxis.
It took a long time to travel to New Zealand, but was well worth
it. Truly a new favorite place for Pat and I. One day we hope
to spend more time there...
